Works in Grey is a painting and sculpture series developed following my earlier Works in Orange series. Created during a period of personal transition after a divorce, the series explores themes of companionship, loyalty, and love, using abstraction and materiality to convey emotional depth.

The work also experiments with pushing the painting beyond the traditional plane, extending storytelling to the sides of the canvas and exploring sculptural form. Several pieces from the show, including Love Crater and Faith on Grey, were acquired through private sale.

Shaped elements were constructed from maple doorskin strips, each uniquely cut to size and layered with multiple coats of epoxy enamel to achieve a smooth, glossy finish. The series reflects a careful interplay between form, texture, and narrative, blending painting and sculpture into immersive, tactile experiences.
